Community in Action was created to be a sustainable nonprofit non-governmental organization, not only to benefit members of the community through outreach programs, but also to involve community members in the development and longevity of the organization itself. It was designed with the idea that effective outcomes can be produced and transformation can take place when community activists, resources and funding join together with a single vision.
Donations will be directed to programs that are best managed, most efficient, and most effective at helping people become and remain self-sufficient.
Your donation will go directly to help programs in these areas:
Educational, vocational, and literacy classes -
Your support will enable us to provide: material for classes, art supplies, books and enrollment forms.
Learning space -
Your support will help create a clean and safe environment for learning to take place and we will strive to provide the maintenance it requires, eventually upgrading the facility.
New programs -
Your support will go directly to providing students will a more diverse class curriculum and a variety of new programs for all ages. Through marketing material, Public Relations events and networking we will expand to offer a wider range of activities.
Productive alternatives for children -
The area where Community In Action is located is plagued by drug abuse and violent crime. Your contribution will enable us to provide many at-risk children with an alternative to being on the streets through our daily activities and educational programs.
Monumental change begins with small steps. Your contribution toward Community in Action is a direct catalyst to help people make transitions in their lives. We cannot put ideas to practice or grow without your help. The majority of Community in Action’s funding comes from individual sponsors. When you make a donation you will automatically be part of our network and receive information about Community In Action. Your contribution is very important for us to continue doing good work…we promise to keep you informed.
We are financed 100% through donations. We have 501(c)(3) status in the U.S. Your donation will be tax deductible to the full extent of U.S. law and you will receive a receipt in the mail at the end of this year. We are also officially registered and recognized by Brazilian law as a nonprofit, Non-Governmental Organization (CNPJ – ONG).
